Middlesex Community Calendar Questions & Answers

Q: Who creates the Middlesex Community Calendar?
A: You do! Anyone who posts on Front Porch Forum can post on the Middlesex Community Calendar.

Q: How do I get my event posted on the Middlesex Community Calendar?
A: When you post something on Front Porch Forum, you are asked to put it into a category (“Lost and found,” “Free items,” “Event,” etc.). If you click “Event” then your posting will automatically be listed on the Calendar. Just like magic!

Q: What should I include to make sure it’s an awesome calendar listing?
A: Of course include the EVENT NAME, DATE/TIME, and LOCATION. To make it even more useful, include:
  • WHO you hope will come (families? Nature lovers? Bluegrass fans? etc.)
  • WHY (if it’s a fundraiser, who it benefits)
  • COST (if any)
  • CONTACT for more info (email address, phone number, or website if appropriate)

Q: Where can I find the Middlesex Community Calendar?
A: Many roads lead to our calendar. Here are four ways to find it:
  1. At the What’s Next Middlesex website (along with great photos):
https://www.whatsnextmiddlesex.org -- click on the “calendar” tab
  2. At our Middlesex Town website: http://middlesexvermont.org
  3. At the Front Porch Forum website:
    https://frontporchforum.com/areas/151/calendar
  4. When you get Front Porch Forum in your inbox and see an event listing, notice that there is a little gold box just below the name of the person who posted it, marked “Calendar.” This is a live link—click it, and it will bring you to the Middlesex Community Calendar.

Q: How do I get my photo on the What’s Next Middlesex Calendar page?
A: Glad you asked! The Middlesex Communications Team plans to update the photos on a seasonal-ish basis, and we’d love to see your shots. Send them to picsofmiddlesex@gmail.com. We will post reminders on FPF when we plan to do the seasonal update.

Q: What is Front Porch Forum?
A: Front Porch Forum is a free service, and anyone who has email can join. Find out more here: https://frontporchforum.com/isfpfforme
